Privacy, refund & imprint.

The short version: this website does not track you, does not set analytics cookies, and does not load third-party scripts. The plugin does not phone home. The refund is automatic if I miss the ship date. Long version below.

Privacy Policy

Last updated: May 6, 2026. Compliant with EU GDPR (Regulation 2016/679) and the Swiss revised Data Protection Act (revDSG, in force since September 1, 2023).

1. Who is responsible

The data controller is Lionel Wermelinger (Switzerland). Contact: hello.com. Full address listed in the imprint section below.

2. What this website collects

Nothing direct. This site does not run analytics, does not set tracking cookies, does not embed Google Fonts, does not load third-party scripts, and does not ask for any personal data through forms.

The website is hosted on Vercel (Vercel Inc., 340 S Lemon Ave #4133, Walnut CA 91789, USA). Vercel automatically logs basic server-access information (IP address, browser user-agent, requested URL, timestamp) for security and abuse prevention. Vercel is GDPR-compliant; their data-processing terms are available at vercel.com/legal/dpa.

3. What happens when you buy

No payment is collected during the current waitlist phase. ChronRecall is in active development and no Stripe checkout link exists yet. Once the Lifetime offer launches with v0.1, payments will be processed by Stripe (Stripe Payments Europe Ltd., Dublin, Ireland) and this section will be updated. Until then, no financial data is collected or processed by this website.

4. Waitlist email

Email addresses collected via the waitlist form are stored in Mailerlite (mailerlite.com, a GDPR-compliant email service provider). Emails are used only for: (1) launch notification when v0.1 ships, (2) one optional pre-launch update if there is a significant milestone to share, and (3) the Lifetime €99 offer when v0.1 ships. Your email is never shared with third parties and never sold. To unsubscribe at any time: click the unsubscribe link in any email, or email hello@chronrecall.com and your address is deleted immediately. Legal basis: legitimate interest, GDPR Art. 6(1)(f).

5. Plugin telemetry

The ChronRecall Obsidian plugin itself does not transmit any data to any server operated by us. The only outgoing network request the plugin makes is to the Obsidian Plugin Marketplace's update endpoint — which is the same request every Obsidian plugin makes, and is governed by Obsidian's privacy policy at obsidian.md/privacy. If you opt-in to a hosted model (OpenAI, Anthropic) on a per-query basis, the retrieved chunks for that query are sent to the model provider you chose. This is opt-in, never default.

6. Your rights

Under GDPR and revDSG you have the right to access, rectify, delete, and port any personal data we hold about you, and to object to processing. Email hello.com and you'll get a response within 30 days. EU residents may also file a complaint with their local data-protection authority. Swiss residents may file a complaint with the Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner (FDPIC, edoeb.admin.ch).

7. Cookies

This website does not set any cookies. Vercel may set a strictly necessary security cookie (`_vercel_jwt`) on protected pages — there are no protected pages on this site, so in practice no cookies are set. No cookie banner is shown because there is nothing to consent to.

8. Changes

If this policy changes materially, the "last updated" date above is bumped and pre-sale customers receive an email notice.

Refund Policy

Current phase: no payment, no refund applicable

ChronRecall is currently in the waitlist phase. No payment is taken and no Stripe checkout link exists. Joining the waitlist is free, so there is nothing to refund at this time.

Refund policy at Lifetime launch

When v0.1 ships and the Lifetime offer opens, the following refund policy will apply: if ChronRecall v0.1 is not publicly available in the Obsidian Plugin Marketplace within the stated window after purchase, every Lifetime customer receives an automatic full refund via Stripe. No emails, no claims, no disputes.

What "v0.1 shipped" means

A public listing in the Obsidian Plugin Marketplace, installable by any Obsidian user, with the three core features functional:

If any one of these three is missing from v0.1, the refund is triggered automatically.

Monthly subscriptions (Pro / Pro+)

Monthly tiers will be available after v0.1 ships and can be cancelled at any time from the Stripe customer portal. On cancellation, the plan ends at the conclusion of the current billing period; no partial refunds for the unused remainder of the month. EU consumers retain their statutory 14-day right of withdrawal.

Imprint

Operator details to be inserted before public launch. Required under Art. 3 Abs. 1 lit. s of the Swiss Federal Act against Unfair Competition (UWG) for any website used in commerce.
